The best Mother’s Day I’ve enjoyed since becoming a mother was Mother’s Day 2006. We had so much fun and we had taken a bunch of photos to remember the day. Somewhere in all the CD backups (before digital backups) the photos from that mother’s day were lost.
Today, I found them 🙂 I am a happy girl!
Mother’s Day 2006:
We were like peas in a pod, the three of us (well six). The summer of 2006 we were inseparable and it was the most fun summer. For Mother’s Day, we loaded the cars / trucks up with kids and atv’s and coolers and took off to spend the day in the lovely Havasu heat.
We finally find a spot to stop and set up and ride for a while before the heat becomes unbearable.
Then someone mentions having seen a campground while we were driving around earlier. So, off we go to the campground… but one of the trucks got stuck and so now we’re digging a truck out in the 157 degree heat… lol — yep good times!
But we got it out and the campground was perfect.
We were able to get a beachfront site for the day and since swimming and campsites hadn’t been on the agenda that morning, the campsites little store was raided and we ended up with four or five of the same swimsuits and flip flops (which might still be in Don’s drawer). The kids stripped to their skivvies and dived in. We cooked burgers and had some beers and got filthy dirty.
I truly need more days like this in my life.
